Who doesn’t like the Olympics? In my mind I am a retired Olympian who won gold in wrestling. Back in the day I could take any dog down. I was not only good looking but strong.
Today as I ponder on the VonHolediggers I see a bunch of lazy schmucks who are good for nothing.
There is a few that could have potential :
Vinnie could be a diver because he loves to dive for that imaginary duck he sees in the pool. Henry is an excellent baseball player , but they dropped baseball after the 2008 Olympics. Danny could win most of the track and field events. He is an excellent runner. The only problem with the three of them is they are momma’s boys who won’t leave mom’s side to do anything.
Now there is Barney who could be a great weightlifter but he’s not motivated to do anything but chase cats. Maybe, fencing because he loves to guard that fence line. I don’t think that’s’ the kind of fencing they are looking for? Freddie Mercury who was once a long distance runner now you can’t get him off the sofa to do anything but reflect on the day when he survived the elements and ran the neighborhood. Plus, he’s up a good fifteen pounds. Unbelievable!
Bogey and George have never been into sports. Putter could be a synchronized swimmer because he loves to wear his Doggles.
Sissy says she would compete in beach volleyball because of the hot men without shirts watching her . Plus, she says she would look hot in her bikini. I don’t have the nerve to tell her she is a bit too old her for bikini. She still bosses me around and would beat me up!
The Olympics are tradition and we enjoy watching them and dreaming . Feeling pride for the people who win and admiration for the athletes who have made it to this extreme level.
Enjoy, watching the 2012 Olympics!

“It doesn't matter tomorrow if they come in first or fiftieth. Those guys have earned the right to walk into that stadium and wave their nation's flag. That's the single greatest honor an athlete can ever have. That's what the Olympics are all about.”

Wally, I love your picture with the medal. I think you have inspired Buttons, Molly, and Peyton! We are enjoying reading the VonHoledigger's blog. Great job! :-)
