Freeway Freida on being a girl!

It's hard to be the only girl living in a house of boys...
I am expected to be loving, nurturing, sensitive, calm and patient.
However, I am the oldest.  Where is the respect?

Sometimes when I enter a room I will be greeted with an announcement from mommy saying: “From Detroit, Michigan -Freeway Freida Marie!"   With the words, sounding loud, clear, and perfect.
In my mind I am running out in an arena with my hot pink tank top and daisy dukes.  My parade Tail is up and marching around.  I am a hit with all the cheers and chanting.  Freida, Freida, Freida…
All of a sudden reality sinks in.  I am standing there with one of the boys bouncing into me, trying to steal my food or biting my tail.
I just want the world to know.  The boys might think they run the house, but in all actuality I do.

What it means to us to be American Dogs!

To all the men, women and service dogs who gave their lives to our country ,  we thank you!

What it means to us, to be American Dogs:

Freeway Freida:  I am a girl and I am in charge!
Wally: I am a very mixed breed and I am accepted and loved!
Henry: I am allowed to run and be free!
George:  It does not matter what color my fur is!
Freddie Mercury:  That I am not masculine and that it’s okay!
Vinnie:  I can bark my opinion!
Danny: I am socially awkward and with time accomplish anything!
Barney:  I am big, burly and can fit in!
Bogey:  I am an orphan and can have a new family!
Putter: Same as Bogey.  Also, can live an extraordinary life!

Again, we are appreciative and proud to be American dogs!

This country will not be a good place for any of us to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.  ~Theodore Roosevelt

God Bless UPS!

This evening I heard that beautiful sound of the UPS truck, you know the sound I am talking about?  The hum of the tires, clanking of the truck, the squeak of the breaks and stopping in front of the house, the rolling of the door. I hear the footsteps, the ring of the door bell, we all fly to take the door down.  We are all on high alert barking in each others faces, ready to rumble.
When I hear daddy say "oh, it's Cloud-star"!
I knew just then it was for me.  WALLY!
Cloud-star is always shipped to me.  Thanks to Aunt J. Naughty!
I now have my Buddy Biscuits and Shampoo.
Maybe, I will share. It depends on my mood...

Vinnie and Henry!

All for one and one for all

You are beautiful!

Nothing like being a dog.  You are free to run and be who you want to be.   There is no one judging you because you are not perfect.  I feel sorry for the humans, because it's hard.   People judge you for everything.  That is enough to make a dog want to puke!  If we are skinny we get treats, if we are overweight we get treats.  If we have a bad hair day, who cares? If our collar is not the in-style not a person judges.  We are dogs and we are loved.  If we walk like idiots on our leash, we are excused.  We eat like pigs and slurp our water.  We are not being told, you can't do it.  Because, we are dogs.
I see so many humans beat themselves up because they are not at the right school or did not score better on the Sat's, get the job of their dreams or the home to go with it.  Who cares, you are you, and as dogs we fail obedience school all the time.  Guess what? we are loved!

My message to humans is just be free to be you, because as your dogs we find you beautiful!

VonHoledigger Founding Fathers

Before this blog goes on any further we would like to pay respects to the Vonholedigger's founding fathers.

 Sir Thomas Thornton Von Holedigger
AKA "Tommy"
1999-2010

Our hearts are heavy today with the passing of our beautiful boy! Tommy was
one of a kind! He was loyal, sophisticated, funny, beautiful, charming,
and very regal! He was people focused not caring much about other dogs.
Except for his own siblings after he permanently marked their face
with a friendly bite, at least he thought it was friendly? He was
demanding but yet patient, He would go to the pub, the Village Idiot and
have his own stool. He was so loving to us that his unconditional love
will carry on, always! He traveled to 29 states, swam in the Gulf of
Mexico,Atlantic, Pacific, and The Great Lakes! Swimming was his favorite
because being blind he could run uninhibited on the beach. He was our
first born. We were going to name him Tommy and when we went to get him.
His name was Tommy! We were all meant to be. He has given to us more
then we could of ever given to him. He is the original Von Holedigger
and his legacy
will be carried on, forever! We miss you and love you
Tommy. We know tonight your are running with Birki and being walked by
your grandparents!

We lost a great dog today...
He was not only a son to us but a great companion!

Birki 2000-2009
There was never a food dish that he did not guard,
a heart he did not steal, a walk or car ride he would not be excited to take,
patience that was so calm
and a personality that won him over by many.

He traveled 29 states with his fellow fab four.  Swam in the Pacific, Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and the Great Lakes.  He lived a great dog  life and we will miss him so much.

We love you Birki!

The following picture is of Bopeep.  He is the VonHoledigger's cousin.  His recent passing has been very hard on his mom.  We all feel such compassion for her.  When a pet passes on the owners grieve terribly.  Their hearts ache but know one really understand because a dog is really only loyal to their family. The bond is really not there for anyone else.  However, tonight his mom's heart is aching and we want her to know we love her.

In loving memory of Beau (Bopeep) Rust born August 6 1999 died April 30 2012 of cancer. Bopeep devoted his life to loving his family and fighting crime. He idolized "Mac-gruff the crime dog" and actively patrolled his neighborhood till just a few months before his death. He was a hero, a best friend and a loving, protective dog son to his Mommy. Bopeep was laid to rest in his backyard in Lehigh Acres, Florida and a rose garden will be planted at his grave site. My life will never be the same without you my little peeper, I love you so much, love you so very much.

Correction to the posting of Freddie Mercury 05/11/12:

We were informed that Freddie Mercury is J. Naughty's dog.  That is true.  She was visiting from Florida when she was the one to let him in the house, she named him and paid for him to get fixed.  The only catch was he had to stay in Tennessee.  However, if Freddie Mercury runs away (we doubt it, he lives the life of luxury) he will show up at Harbor Oaks Place in Florida.  J.Naughty was not aware that Freddie's doggy chip has him registered to her address.

Vinnie on Siblings are lazy!

I have come too realize that I will be the one posting on blogspot.  Mostly, because my siblings are lazy.  It's 3pm and I have only seen Freddie Mercury up once.  Freeway Freida and Barney have been watching the neighbor since noon.  The neighbor man has a new girlfriend and she is out flaunting her bikini.  Mommy says she hopes she get's a good sunburn, the little tart!  I happen to agree.

Bogey and Putter

We are the latest addition to the VonHoledigger group.  Our names are Bogey(right) and Putter (left).  We were orphans. However, we are all related.  Our mom and dad were parents to Honey Bear.  So, actually Honey Bear would be our brother, all very odd.  We are still grieving for our parents but with time our hearts should get better.

Barney

My name is Barnardo Birk, aka BARNEY.   I am a wild child.  I came about because I reminded the parents of the late Birki, I was tiny and cute and they took me home.  Suckers.  I was the meanest puppy you ever met, I hated to be picked up and would growl.  Mom said I would not act like that so she taught me kisses instead of growling.  So today I am 130 pound love machine.  Don't let the neighbors know. When Wally retired last year of the household security I got the job and I take it very seriously. I enjoy charging the fence ferociously to make sure the rift-raft does not come around, while I look like I have rabies with foam coming out of my mouth.  So exhausting to be me.

Danny

Greetings my name is Danny Nelson.  I was named after my late grandfather and my middle name comes from my great-grandmother.  I love to carry anything around I can, it is my security.  I am very shy and don't want to be bothered with people telling me how cute I am.  I love my parents and siblings very much.  I enjoy going on car rides with the Springer Collection where Vinnie, Henry and I play born free and hang our heads out the window.  I am a super quick runner and love to play in the backyard.  I can't wait to get a bigger yard...

Vinnie

My name is Vinnie Laine and I am in love with my mommy.  My parents picked me because my tail is striped and mom and I fell in love at first glance.  My hero was my late brother Sir Thomas Thornton VonHoledigger.  He was the founding father of the VonHoledigger Organization.  He and my mom were super close so I followed every thing he did.  If mom takes a bath, I lay next to the tub.  If mommy goes to another room, I follow.  When mommy is sleeping, I don't leave the bed until she gets up.  I love to swim in my pool.  I could be in my pool all day.  My biggest pet peeve would be Freddie Mercury he is so annoying.  Don't let him fool you he put on a good 15 pounds since his glamor shot.  That dog stays on the sofa until after noon.  I bark in his face just to agitate him, he is so lazy.

Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury is my name.  Okay where do I start.  First of all I chose this family.  I dug my way into the backyard and hung out with the other dogs.  I am very eccentric and I could go off the deep end at any moment.  I belonged to a home where I was not taken care of.  I escaped headed up the hill and protected this yard from all of the awful neighbors, when one day I got in trouble.  The parents were told they needed to do something about this dog hanging out on the property chasing them down the street when they walked by.  So mom and dad adopted me they took me to the vet.  I got shots and had to be fixed.  I did not like that thought so I showed my teeth and the people at the vet said I was not a normal, happy dog.  I all most got put down!  Thank goodness I did not.  I have been in the witness protection plan from the awful neighbors but now I am out.  Oh, well.  I am a good boy and this is my home people!

George

My name is George Lee, one evening I stumbled upon this house with dogs.  I was tired, dehydrated and weak.   I found the porch and stayed there.  This man opened the door brought me out a dog bed, food, toys and water. I was in heaven.  Early in the morning it started to rain this nice man came and got me.  He brought me inside and the lady gave me a bath.  I now call them mom and dad and I am the happiest I ever been.  At first there was a bunch of talk about me.  People thought that the VonHolediggers were related to the doggy mafia and I was the spy.  Manager Michael would always call me an effin  rat!  I did not appreciate any of this nonsense.  I am loyal to my family and I am a real good, loving boy.

Henry

My name is Henry Thomas and I am the sophisticated one of the family.  I was the first dog to join the Fab Four and after that we were VonHolediggers full time.  I came about because mom was at work talking about the children, and met the breeder where I came from.  Well there goes mom and dad to pick me out.  They picked me because I was standing in the food bowl, my God they really need to get their eating habits under control.  However, I am glad they did because I would never have this wonderful home and all the love I get.  My favorite things to do is go for a walk with dad, I can sneak out the door before the other fools even comprehend that I am gone.  I like most people, and they like me because I am charming!

Wally

My name is Wally and I am a super cool dog.  My breed is a "Detroit Special", yeah try growing up with that title.  I came to my family following one of the little neighbor kids home from school.  My mom heard me crying and scratching at their door.  She went out and got me, took me home and there I stayed.  As a puppy my head was larger then my body.  It was a bit big I must admit, but I was so cute.  I was number four of the group.  We were considered the Fab Four, so cool.  I traveled the Country with my mom and dad, Tommy, Birki and my sister Freeway Freida. Tommy and Birki are since gone and I am now the oldest and brightest  male.  I run the house.  The parents keep getting more dogs which I find totally annoying, they are all useless noise makers.  I remember the old days, I am old school and don't appreciate the modern day dog.

Freeway Freida

My name is Freeway Freida, I am the oldest and only girl.  My life is quite exciting.  I am an original Fab Four.  You see I was found on I-94 in Detroit, by Mexican Town.  My dad was driving to work one day and called my mom all upset because he saw a pretty dog on the side of the highway, he thought I was road kill.  The next day, dad was driving through town and I happened to have my eyes opened.  Daddy got off the exit, turned around and came to get me.  It was a sight seeing him run through highway traffic.  I still laugh about it to this day.  Well any how, there is Daddy afraid to roll me over to what he may see.  I was all intact.  Yeah, for me.  He grabbed me and we ran through the traffic and off we went.  When I got to the house mom and dad gave me a bath and loved on me.  I was so skinny I could not stand, I was weak.  At that time they only had Tommy and Birki.  How I miss my Birki.  We were a couple in love.  I followed him every where.  He was so handsome.  Today I am healthy, guarding my food and putting up with all of the nonsense from the youngsters.

babies of mom

The days are long when our mom is at work, we try to be good. We are just having a little fun, decorating the house. The pillows look much better shredded and tossed across the floors, beautification made easy.
