Tribute to VanMorrison on his birthday

Today is Van Morrison’s birthday and the VonHolediggers would like to say
Happy Birthday to You.
We celebrate your music every day and today we would like Van Morrison to celebrate himself.
Let me tell you what Van Morrison means to the VonHolediggers.
First of all the song Tupelo Honey is special because daddy calls mommy Orange Blossom.
He will say Orange Blossom is sweet as Tupelo Honey.  It touches my heart every time.
Van Morrison music plays when we travel the open road or having a quiet evening at home,
it reminds me of mom and dad playing Scrabble and laughing,  dancing in our pajamas in the living room or watching the skyline change in the evening.  Nothing is better, For the VonHolediggers Van Morrison’s music is security like a beef roast in the oven on a cold Winter day or a hug from a parent.  Van Morrison equals great memories...
With that we say thank you Van Morrison and Happy Birthday!

Hurricane Putter with his strong winds

Hurricane Putter in the house.  Not only does this dog pass some strong wind.  But, he bolts through the house like a cyclone in the Caribbean.  The parents were trying to paint and in charges Hurricane Lil’ P,  he ran right through the paint and marked the floor with his little feet.
What makes it worst was he just  sat down in the paint.  Very destructive like a hurricane.
In all seriousness,  we are sending many prayers to all of the dogs, humans and other animals in Hurricane Isaac’s path.  May everyone be safe!
For me I will be stuck in the house with the rains that are coming from the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac with Lil’ P and his strong winds, I knew the parents should of purchased gas masks for our safety.
-George
P.S I have added a song from another favorite artist of the VonHolediggers, Bob Dylan singing Hurricane.

Back to school pictures with the VonHolediggers

Even though we are homeschooled I still think it would be nice if we had back to school pictures done.
Obviously, I will be in the pool.  I posed for a few pictures to see how I like the bandana and the different angles of my face/body.  Of course I look marvelous.
Lets go over where the rest of the VonHolediggers will pose.

Freeway Freida: Guarding Food Bowl.
Wally: Lounging on the sofa.
George: In the chair licking some private part!
Freddie Mercury: Eating on the Sofa.
Henry: Baseball in his mouth.
Danny: Dirty laundry hanging out of his mouth.
Barney: Next to fence, acting like he is guarding it!
Bogey: Next to daddy’s ankles.

Putter: Going potty in the house with his Doggles on.

So, I guess it’s finally apparent to everyone that I am the normal child.

Henry pays tribute Babe Ruth and Elvis

Do you realize that August 16 marks a couple of important dates in history?

Elvis Presley dies in Memphis, Tennessee.   He was 42.  Elvis grew up dirt-poor in Tupelo and Memphis and found work as a truck driver after high school. When he was 19, he walked into a Memphis recording studio and paid $4 to record a few songs as a present to his mother.  The VonHolediggers are thankful for that because his music is music to our dog ears.

You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
                          Cryin' all the time
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
                          Cryin' all the time
Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit
And you ain't no friend of mine

Also, on this date in 1948, baseball legend George Herman "Babe" Ruth dies from cancer in New York City.  Ruth almost single-handedly salvaged the sport's popularity, hitting a record 60 home runs in the 1927 season and leading the Yankees to seven pennants. Yankee Stadium, opened in 1923, came to be known as "the House that Ruth Built."

It’s amazing to me because I love Elvis and Babe Ruth and to think they both passed on he same date.  Two super heroes for a baseball, singing dog like me.

I can't help myself I am going to add two more Elvis songs for your listening enjoyment!

Thanks for enjoying my music and putting up with me.  I also wanted to point out that just like me Babe Ruth was left handed,  I am left pawed.
I will end on this note, just scroll down!

Bogey shares his feelings of vacation with Neanderthal Mutts

Vinnie wants to go on vacation but at this point and time I think I would be too embarrassed to drive on a bus with the Neanderthal  mutts.
Let me tell you how it will go down:
Barney will hang out the window slobbering and barking at any cat that walks by.  He also has a strong dislike for rednecks.
Putter thinks he is Barney’s assistant and lately has this obsession with biting him in the butt when Barney barks at the above.
Freeway Freida will be a show off strutting her tail around.  She is so into herself !
Wally is bored with all of us so he will probably listen to his Walkman and hang out with the Springer Collection so he can be by mommy.
Freddie Mercury is such a slob he will wander the bus looking for any treats that have fell on the floor.  He is so odd if you look at him funny he does this odd shake, he is so neurotic.
Henry, Vinnie, and Danny aka The Springer Collection are such an embarrassment depending on their mood or if mom is around they will act out of control.  We went Downtown the other day and what a disaster.  They did not like the man with a cane,  kid with an ice cream cone, lady with big hair, teenager walking his dog, old lady walking across the street, and the list goes on.  You get the point.  Daddy says they don’t act like that when mom is not in the car.  It’s like they think they are protecting her.  When they are really making her nervous with their shenanigans.
George, does not care.  He acts stoned all of the time.  Nothing bothers him.  He just goes room to room with a smile on his face.  I definitely want some of what he’s on.  Must be some good stuff.
I will let you know how this all plays out…

Barney's thoughts on security and The Marshall Tucker Band

There you are?
Wally thinks he had it bad growing up with being called a Detroit Special when someone asks what breed he is.
How about this Wally,  Barnado Birk!  That is my real name.  However, I have daddy hovering around me saying, There you are, like I can not hear and mommy saying kisses every time I tried to show any type of aggressive behavior.
I am getting sick and tired of the Springer Collection making fun of me because of my lack of household security.  I have been raised to be sensitive.
I really do think my name is There You Are and I should kiss everyone.  I am a good looking stallion,
a real ladies man.  That is why my siblings are so jealous of me.
They want to pick on my lack of household security.  I was never told I was to watch the front yard too.
All I know, is that  I got rid of Wilma and chased her up a tree.   I can’t help it she relocated  to the front!

P.S I would like to pay respects to the loss of guitarist Stuart Swanlund of The Marshall Tucker Band, there music keeps me going during the dogs days of Summer when a dog like me is trying to secure the property.   With that I say, thank you. RIP!

On the road again...

The VonHoledigger Tour Bus

My ride with just Mommy!

So bored, ready for a vacation!

The VonHolediggers need to go on vacation.  We are exhausted from our surroundings.  The every day life of Summer is mundane.  We need to perk ourselves up, we need a  bit of excitement.
I tried to convince mom to get a Vespa and the two of us can leave everyone at home and go to the beach.  She said she would miss daddy and the other babies too much.
I guess they have to come.  So, I have been searching the internet for a bus that we can travel on.  If you ever watched 19 kids and Counting, you would see they travel on a bus.  So why can’t we?  I would even put the VonHoledigger  name on the bus, so people could see how cool we are.
I was looking at the bluebird buses but I fell in love with this Mini Bird, so cute.  We each can have our own seats and we can travel.  Maybe, we can get a custom crate made for the top of the bus for Freddie so I don’t have to look at him.  Sounds like a wonderful plan.  We can tow the Vespa so  I can go on mini trips with momma and take breaks from everyone.  I will get my Doggles back from Putter and I once again will sing Born Free.  Life is good!
